How To Make Bootable Pendrive to Install Any Operating System (OS) :

When our computer/laptop's hard disk is corrupted for some reason or it is infected with the virus, then we need to format our computer and install the OS (operating system) again. It happens with almost everyone. Nowadays many laptops are coming in such that there is no optical drive (DVD drive). For some reason, if we need to install an operating system again, we do not understand how to install an OS (windows or ubuntu) without an optical drive?
To install a new OS, we need a bootable CD, and the CD is almost running today. Whenever we need any software, game or OS, we can download it from the internet. We install software easily from the setup file but when it comes to installing the OS, everyone misses the bootable CD.

Today I'm going to tell you how to make pen drive bootable so that you can install any os from pen drive on your PC/Laptop, whether it's Linux or Windows.

How to Make a Pen Drive Bootable:

To make pen drive bootable, you have to download a small tool software application. The name of this tool is Rufus (you can download any other alternative too). This is a portable software and works very fast. This means you do not have to install it on your PC / laptop. Just double click on the downloaded software file, the software will be open. With the help of this tool, you can install the OS on a computer that supports (UEFI or BIOS). You can download by visiting Here to download the tool from the developer's website. You can also use other tools alternatives to Rufus viz. UNetbootin (Universal Netboot Installer)YUMI (Your Universal Multiboot Installer), Universal USB Installer etc. These all are Open Source (Totally Free). In this post I will tell you how make bootable pendrive using Rufus software.
Note: Before making your USB pen drive bootable, take a backup of your important data if available in pen drive. In the process of making pen drive bootable, it will be formatted by Rufus (software).
Rufus:- Rufus is a small utility that helps format and creates bootable USB flash drives, such as USB keys/pendrives, memory sticks, etc. Rufus is fully Open Source, you need not to pay for it.

How to use Rufus?

1. First of all, after downloading the Rufus software Open it (as you know).
2. Connect your USB pen drive to PC and select it in the Device menu.
3. Select "iso image" of OS from the drop-down menu of Boot selection.
4. Select "MBR partition scheme for BIOS". If your PC supports UEFI then select "GPS partition scheme for UEFI". Select Target System "BIOS or UEFI".
5. Set file system to "FAT32 (Default)" and Cluster size 4096(Default).
6. Click the quick format checkbox.
Finally, click on the "Start" button. Clicking on the start button you will get a warning to destroy the previous data. Click on OK.
In the meantime, your bootable USB pen drive will be ready. That is it, your bootable pendrive is ready.
